Amber Mitchell named new Ionia High School Assistant Principal

Amber Mitchell has been named the new assistant principal at Ionia High School.  As Mitchell begins her first year as an assistant principal, she wants IHS to expand on its GRIT mantra - growth mindset, respect, integrity and teamwork.  Mitchell looks forward to working with Gurk on school goals and said they've worked together in the past.  For the full article, please see the Sentinel Standard

Ionia students taking advantage of FANUC robotics certification program

To help prepare students for potential careers in robotics and automation, IHS began a FANUC robot computer programming course last year, where students can earn a FANUC Robot Programmer and Operator Certification.  To earn a certification, students have to meet classroom goals, complete an online course and pass a final exam and demonstration.  To learn more about the robotics program, please see the Ionia Sentinel Standard for the full article.

Students transform Ionia High wall display into mural of hope

The new Bulldog Wall is located on the second floor of IHS.  The Unity and Resilience Club took over the project about a year ago, with Heaven Daly leading the project.  Overall, there were roughly 13 students who helped contribute to the mural.  To read the full story, please see the Ionia Sentinel Standard.
